SHOGUNLABS
Shogunlabs is a dream realised after almost 20 years working with & loving the
Labrador Retriever.
We have competed in Conformation Shows, Obedience and Scent Work since 2019 and knew we had something more to contribute to the breed. Our dream and goal is to improve the breed and raise awareness as to what the Labrador Retriever has to offer any family.
We are elated to take our next step as Registered ANKC Breeders. This journey begins in 2022 after so much learning and expanding our knowledge. We knew this would be our life long passion and we are so thrilled to be able to share our journey with you.
Over the years we have been blessed with some amazing mentors and friends within the breed and we are forever grateful for those relationships. Truly, Labradors bring people together. They are simply the best dogs!!
Please enjoy our website as we update it in the years to come and as we enjoy many more years loving the Labrador Retriever!

The first to steal our hearts
“BELLE” & “BENZ”

My first Labrador Belle, I got her when I was 21. Little did I know it would be the start of a life long love of these wonderful dogs.

She was the sweetest girl

When she was about 5 months old

About 10 months... all legs

She loved to curl up in the washing basket from time to time. Sometimes not on her own!

My pretty girl. She was the best dog. I often think of her :)

Belle was closely followed by Benz, we got him because we thought Belle was bored and lonely while we were at work. They were the best of friends. They loved cuddling on the couch or anywhere they could fit together. We lost her at 12 to Degenerative Heart disease. He was lost without her. That's when Bambam came into our home. To mend everyone's broken heart. He didn't disappoint.

He has always been a big lovable sook!

With a big boof head!

Handsome boy in his hayday!

He probably wanted something we were eating!

Always pushing the limits...

Playing in the hose in our back yard in Toowoomba

Coming home from work to find them cuddled up like this was a regular occurrence. They truly loved each other.

Again with the snuggling.. this time in a washing basket. He would usually be the one sitting on top of her!

Retrieving the same frisbee together. Belle would swim out to collect it for hours if we let her! Benz would get it once, then run off once he got to shore. He wasn't as keen a retriever as she was haha!

They were often my hiking buddies!

And of course, my couch buddies :)
We were very lucky to still have Benz with our first litter and he helped us raise both Bambam and Pebbles over the years!
It broke our heart when we lost him in March of 2023.
